Art does not reproduce what we see; rather, it makes us see.
The Mission: Art For Life
Art evokes and stirs, connecting us to parts of ourselves and each other in new and intimate ways. TreeCasa supports impactful artistic creations that hold the power to change the way we see, move, act and relate in the world.
Our Artist-In-Residence Program fosters the creative and professional growth of emerging and established visual artists seeking to pursue new solo projects and cross collaborations in a wholly unique setting.

Explore & Create
Explore & Create

TreeCasa provides a vibrant space of encounter and exchange. The entire 10-acre landscape comprises an open canvas and live gallery, set in the wild beauty of Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast. We invite artists to inhabit this unique space and immerse in local culture.
Residents will be surrounded by a community of working artists and innovators from different fields, fueling the potential for exciting, unexpected collaborations. The residency is designed to allow artists to take risks and pursue new projects and ideas, free from everyday pressures. We take care of food, accommodations, and work space. You’ll have the natural environment to inspire creation, and an exotic country as your playground.

The Place
The Place

Within this expansive 10-acre landscape, meandering foot bridges and walkways connect teak-log ranchos with forest canopies and a biodiverse network of plants and wildlife. TreeCasa is home to countless species of birds, butterflies, insects, fish, amphibians, mammals and the impressive howler monkeys! While nested in the jungle canopy of Nicaragua’s southwest coast, TreeCasa is surrounded by enclaves of ocean, lagunas, islands and volcanoes.
TreeCasa was designed to optimize natural elements of wind and water, and built with local indigenous materials and techniques paired with modern sensibilities. Thoughtful permaculture and planting design also supports a sustainable food system. The property features two pools, a naturalist pond, orchard, organic garden, restaurant, bar, two yoga platforms, two 3-story tree lounges, horseback riding and hiking trails.
