Megan and Garna stayed with us in the early days of opening and captured much of that pioneering spirit in stills and video. They trained their unique lens on the landscape, architecture, events, plants, animals and people. Many of the beautiful images featured on our website were indeed taken by them.
During their month stay, they directed and produced rich multimedia content on the TreeCasa experience, like this video.
They designed several posters to launch special events and partnerships. Here are just a few.
Garna even produced an arresting art mural, inspired by Megan’s genius idea to make a backdrop for a playful costume photo booth for our Music in the Trees event (July 22, 2017). The canvas is now a favorite showpiece in the TreeCasa restaurant among all the guests.
Megan and Garna went above and beyond the call. In exploring Nicaragua, they featured stories of its diverse regional landscapes and culture, as well as the vibrant local community. They created content for Buddha Garden, a vegan restaurant in SJDS, The Art Warehouse, a gallery, warehouse and art workshop space, Finca Bona Fide, an organic farm on Isle Ometepe, several San Juan del Sur beaches, surfing, horse trails, and coffee and cacao plantations in the Matagalpa Highlands…
While Among Others distills their combined multi-talents in focused cause, both Megan and Garna are unique visual artists in their own right. She, in multimedia collage; he, in line drawing and ink design. We hope to be lucky enough to welcome these two amazing humans back to TreeCasa, next time as artist-residents.
