TreeCasa Maker Program
WORK-PLAY
This unique work-exchange program invites people to come learn, share their passion and make an impact on the TreeCasa landscape and local community. Our entire 10-acre property forms the live research, demonstration and advocacy lab for building innovation and creative works that deepen our relationship to people and place. The program has forged many new friendships in hands-on collaboration.
ORGANIC GARDEN & FOOD
EDUCATION
Educational programs like our Free Garden Tours and Organic Garden Food project aims to improve local food security and community health. The pilot program at a local orphanage cultivates environmental literacy in children by teaching them about organic growing, food and nutrition. Through the course they gained ecosystem awareness and learned about how environmental health effects their food sources and immune systems.

INTERACTIVE LEARNING
Our Guest Chef Series invites chefs with diverse backgrounds to share their unique culinary experiences with the community, introducing new foods, flavors. These interactive classes teach participants delicious new ways to prepare foods that improve health and vitality.

We support local businesses and folks doing great things in the San Juan del Sur community and beyond. Whether it’s through featuring their products and services at TreeCasa, providing a venue for classes and workshops, or crafting events to promote their cause. Zen Yoga
Aside from offering daily yoga classes at their studio in San Juan del Sur and at TreeCasa, Zen Yoga, founded by Vanessa Pattison, provides hosting and booking services for instructors seeking to lead yoga retreats and trainings with curated wellness experiences.
Nicaragua Craft Beer Company
Brendan DeBlois, Matt Greenberg and Bobby Hottensen grow curiosity in new beer styles and craft beer culture in Nicaragua with their quality micro brews. Their brewpub, San Juan del Sur Cervecería, brings people together to share the gastropub experience with food and live music.
Salt – Nicaragua Sailing Adventures
A band of salty ocean-faring friends, including a sailboat captain, former coast guard and traveling sandal maker, bring their love of outdoor fun to a flourishing ecotourism industry. These guys advocate for ocean adventures paired with knowledge and learning about marine environments and local culture.
